Evolution Of A Man

i know i’m all late and everything (as usual), but i just watched a really good movie by the name of “dan in real life,” starring steve carell and juliette binoche. the movie was quite good. “dan in real life” was very funny, witty, engaging and entertaining (as all of steve’s movies tend to be); but it was the last few lines of the move that made my face light up:

“…but if we’re really honest with ourselves, most of the time our plans don’t work out as we hoped. so instead of asking our young people, ‘what are your plans? what do you plan to do with your life?’ maybe we should tell them this… ‘plan to be surprised!’”

this made me smile because i’ve been thinking a lot about the turns my life is taking these days- not only are they very fun, educational and inspiring, but they’re incredibly surprising! some of the things that i’ve begun to do in the last few weeks are things i would have never imagined myself doing. and i’m incredibly happy!

for the first time in a long time, i feel my life taking off again. there are wheels turning all around me, and not only can i see them- manifested in conversations and actions- but i can feel them. it’s like the universe is pointing me exactly where i need to go, and all i have to do is just take a step. challenges do remain, as always, but these days when i begin to lose my way, something almost immediately spins me right around and pushes me in a new direction. just surprise! out of nowhere and in the form of something i almost never imagined.

i’m in a bit of a euphoric state, so you’ll have to excuse the rambling. i’m just incredibly excited about where my life is going nowadays. at the beginning of the year, i mentioned that 2008 will be a breakthrough year for me and that everyone should pay attention. i mean it more than ever now. there are surprises and teachings around every corner and my journey – my legacy- has only just begun.

so what are my plans? i plan to be surprised, i plan to go out and live my life to the fullest, and i plan to love every minute of it! i’m buying a copy of that movie… that was way too inspiring.
