on the bad boy making the band tour…

IT ROCKED!

last night, i attended the making the band tour featuring cheri dennis, donnie, day 26 and danity kane. being a really big fan of the making the band series (especially season 4), i was very excited to take in the show.

my friend and i got to the ballroom and settled down into our seats. we got a bit liquored up in preparation (he a little tequila and ginger ale; a long island for myself), and waited for the show to start. we were joined by 2 really cool people, nicole and scottie who took the seats next to us and proclaimed that we were all, indeed, going to party.

the show was supposed to start at 7pm, but of course didn’t start until well after 8:30. but when it did, it was on! cheri dennis and donnie were cute- singing 2-4 songs a piece, but the real show started when day 26 hit the stage.

aside from being just plain hot, they gave a really good show. this being their first tour, i was incredibly interested in seeing how they would perform. if i wasn’t a fan before, my mind was definitely changed after seeing them live. i damn near creamed myself when they sang “co star”- my favorite track on the album; and almost had a baby toward the end of their set when willie ripped of his shirt! god, that was nice!

all of that was well and good, but the real show-stopper (no pun intended) was danity (fucking) kane. those girls amazed me. i’d heard they were good in concert, but they burned the house down! they did most of my favorite songs, and everything from their costumes to choreography was on point. i couldn’t keep my eyes off of dawn- my favorite girl in the group- it’s like she was born to be on stage! you could just tell she was really enjoying herself and just loves performing. she really did her thang!

all in all, it was a really great concert. toward the end, diddy came out to present danity kane and day 26 with their plaques for their albums going gold. he mentioned that he had been watching the girls back stage and got a little emotional from their performance- they’ve come so far. i couldn’t agree more. any apprehension i may have had about seeing them was completely crushed as soon as they hit the stage. these girls (all of them) are fire!

unfortunately, i forgot my camera at home, but fortunately for us, there were people at the concert videotaping for youtube, lol. check this out:
