inspiration – aspiration

i’m an incredibly huge fan of and believer in the secret. i try to get a viewing in at least once a month to stay grounded and aware. i really believe in the power of the law of attraction, and i try my best to keep positive thoughts in my head so that positive things manifest in my life. my thoughts and actions do occasionally venture off to places that don’t really benefit my life and my goals; but because of watching the secret and being aware of how the law of attraction works, i’m able to (in most cases) quickly turn my thoughts around.

one of the ways in which i use the law of attraction in my daily life is with my vision board:

now, everyone’s finished product is different. for me, i don’t really get off on “things.” i have enough “stuff.” don’t get me wrong, there are a few items that i would definitely like to own for myself- and they are included on the board. but “stuff” rarely inspires me. people do!

my vision board is a collage of (mostly) people who greatly inspire me, as well as a few things i would like to own, and examples of goals i wish to accomplish. most notable additions are:

  • a reminder for me to always “plan my work & work my plan!
  • a check made out to myself for the amount i want in the bank by the end of the year
  • a perez hilton blog post on oprah in which she speaks on being guided by instinct
  • my dream [read: next] apartment (i want to move into it next year!)
  • several pics of beyonce & jay-z either performing or hanging out (fairytale romance, etc…)
  • a job description for a significant other
  • a picture of the cast of entourage
  • sample “evolution of a man” book cover (it’s coming, y’all… get ready!)
  • a picture of a volkswagen passat (i’ve always wanted one)

these are just a few of the things that inspire and motivate me to get up and get my ass to work. when i’m doing my wii fit run in the morning, i usually face my vision board, and imagine what my life would be like if each and every one of those things existed for me RIGHT NOW! from that thought and imagination process, i then start to get ideas about what actions i need to take to begin and continue to make the images and dreams come alive. and once those ideas are in my head, they immediately have to be written down on the whiteboard above:

**note: i also have a marcus patrick calendar in my “inspiration – aspriation corner” for added happiness.**

together, my vision and whiteboards are the perfect pair. i do nothing but dream while taking in my vision board, and then am able to immediately plan out the ideas that come to my mind. it’s absolutly mindblowing how productive and esctatic this corner of my room has made me! and it’s all because of using the law of attraction- imagining and choosing what i want for my life, believing that i can have it now, taking action, and watch everything appear!

so yeah… i’m doin’ pretty good. i’ll leave you with a quote i read from the vision board almost every day. i created this little picture because it makes me laugh, reminds me that i’m not crazy, and motivates me to keep on dreaming!
