i voted today!
i don’t get up early. but at 7am this morning, i jumped out of bed, brushed my teeth, and ran…
directly across the street to my local voting poll (aren’t i lucky?)! i was extra cheerful to see that there was no line running down the block. however, when i entered the school, the hallways and gymnasium told a different story:
there were people everywhere! very few of us knew where to go, and line organization was expectedly a mess; but everyone was in good spirits! people had shown up in droves and came out with only one thing on their mind: change! as word spread that we were in for an hour and a half wait in line, we all momentarily sighed, but quickly bounced right back to the glorious aura and unity that is the right to vote for the obama/biden ticket!
i approached and entered the voting booth, pulled the big ass red lever to the right (we vote old skool here in brooklyn), and quickly cast my vote for obama- pausing only to snap a few pics of the moment:
another pull of the red lever to back to the left, and i was out! took less than a minute… but it was the best spent minute of my day!
we have the chance to do something really huge here, people! i don’t need to tell you how important this election is… if anything, you’ve already been informed by pop culture media. just go vote! you owe it to yourself!
obama 2008!
