i just came across this inaugral video blog post by solange knowles, and i just had to post it to evolution of a man.
one of the things that i sort of pride myself on as an individual as well as a personal blogger is my candor and spontenaiety. i’m always myself- awkward, random and all, and i really don’t care what others may think (well, most of the time, lol). anyway, solange just seems like a very free-spirited person. in her music videos, interviews, and now her video blog, she always comes off as the black girl next door that you could kiki with (did i really just use that word?), but at the same time have some very deep, life-changing conversations with as well. i connect with that, and that’s why i love her!
i’m just really glad to see solange get some shine. i’m really feeling her sound right now, and on top of that she’s giving me a different, “new” type of celebrity- one that’s themselves on camera as they are in life. and that’s just very refreshing to see.
sol-angel’s cd hits stores sometime next month. woot!
as we all know, i’m an incredibly huge movie fan! have been as long as i can remember. in college, i spent my spare evenings in the basement- curled up in one of my handmade blankets (yes i crochet!), watching movies and eating popcorn; and one evening, i came across the movie, “living out loud,” starring holly hunter and queen latifah, but with a “special” appearance by:
eddie cibrian!
in this movie, eddie played a really hot masseuse who visits holly hunter’s character after she’d had a drunken (and somewhat embarassing) night out. this entire scene, was all about eddie! this boy’s body is so amazing- particular his mouthwatering bubble of an ass!
i know those of you who saw this movie seriously considered (if only for a moment) callin’ a “masseuse” from the paper after feeling everything that eddie was giving in that scene. and for those of you who haven’t seen this bit of orgazmic goodness, here:
if you’re like me, you’ve probably rewound the scene (or parts of it) like 20 times before going on to do anything else [read: read the rest of this blog post].
today happens to be eddie’s 35th birthday! what better day to take the opportunity to get on our knees (in thankful prayer, bitches!), and thank the good lawd for the yummy deliciousness that is mr. eddie cibrian!
the universe is all about putting me in a great mood today! after an incredible night of partying last night at splashbar nyc, i surprisingly woke up early this morning and went out for a bit to run a few errands- dancing in the streets the entire time.
when i got back home and settled into my tv watching, writing and net surfing, i came across an episode of one of my favorite shows, “living single.” the particular episode airing guest starred the one and only:
eartha kitt!
i can’t tell you how much i love this woman! every time i see her, i think of 2 things: batman and boomerang. i’m watching the episode now, and every time she comes on screen, i get closer and closer to by boomerang dvd- preparing for round two of “kitt entertainment.” and if i had the batman series she appeared on back in the day, i would be heading for that one, too!
i shared this with unknown dj who happened to be online, and he shared with me this beautiful pearl of a video capturing eartha in 1962 singing “i want to be evil.” it’s my new favorite video! no, seriously… i’ve seen it like 10 times in the last half hour or so that i’ve known about it!
check it out:
brilliant! scary, but brilliant! i feel the same way sometimes- just wanna be evil!
so, where ever you are miss eartha kitt, this post is for you!
as a recent addition to my vision board at home- representing one of the “types” of guys i envision for myself as a partner- i have to post the orgasmic goodness that is:
shemar moore
this boy has been warming my little hot pocket since i was a teenager! i have no idea what he’s up to these days; but he’s had me since the young and the restless! and we all know what his little romp on the beach did to me… yum!
*sigh* oh, what i would do for a (shemar) klondike bar right now!
excuse me for a minute… i’ll be back in a bit. talk amongst yourselves…
last night, i attended the making the band tour featuring cheri dennis, donnie, day 26 and danity kane. being a really big fan of the making the band series (especially season 4), i was very excited to take in the show.
my friend and i got to the ballroom and settled down into our seats. we got a bit liquored up in preparation (he a little tequila and ginger ale; a long island for myself), and waited for the show to start. we were joined by 2 really cool people, nicole and scottie who took the seats next to us and proclaimed that we were all, indeed, going to party.
the show was supposed to start at 7pm, but of course didn’t start until well after 8:30. but when it did, it was on! cheri dennis and donnie were cute- singing 2-4 songs a piece, but the real show started when day 26 hit the stage.
aside from being just plain hot, they gave a really good show. this being their first tour, i was incredibly interested in seeing how they would perform. if i wasn’t a fan before, my mind was definitely changed after seeing them live. i damn near creamed myself when they sang “co star”- my favorite track on the album; and almost had a baby toward the end of their set when willie ripped of his shirt! god, that was nice!
all of that was well and good, but the real show-stopper (no pun intended) was danity (fucking) kane. those girls amazed me. i’d heard they were good in concert, but they burned the house down! they did most of my favorite songs, and everything from their costumes to choreography was on point. i couldn’t keep my eyes off of dawn- my favorite girl in the group- it’s like she was born to be on stage! you could just tell she was really enjoying herself and just loves performing. she really did her thang!
all in all, it was a really great concert. toward the end, diddy came out to present danity kane and day 26 with their plaques for their albums going gold. he mentioned that he had been watching the girls back stage and got a little emotional from their performance- they’ve come so far. i couldn’t agree more. any apprehension i may have had about seeing them was completely crushed as soon as they hit the stage. these girls (all of them) are fire!
unfortunately, i forgot my camera at home, but fortunately for us, there were people at the concert videotaping for youtube, lol. check this out:
*sigh* i can’t resist cheesin’ from ear to ear when i see these two together!
i dream of one day reaching their type of baller status and maybe even partying on with them in cannes.
i gotta get to work. there’s a lot of hard and rough work to be done, but it’s role models like these that keep me smilin’ and working my ass off every step of the way.
thanx guys! hope you’re having as much fun as it looks like you’re having, lol.
thank you for this, for more reasons than you know. in addition to the orgasmic moistness that is marcus patrick, there was a particular piece of beauty from 8:48 – 10:01.
the reason i want to thank you for this interview is pretty much for that portion there. it gave a bit of light to something that has been slowly pushing its way through our world as patiently as it can and is now ready to explode. just look at what happened with the supreme court in california. we are on our way!
this country is about to get a lot more interesting… and fabulous i might add!
ok, i know you’re all about to mob together in an effort to beat some sense into me for this one, but i’ve just gotta get this out. this boy’s been all up in my face lately- on the blogs, tv, and radio- and as spring has finally sprung here in new york, my little hot pocket flutters with delight at all of the nekkidness that is beginning to resurface.
such bounty of naked skin includes the ever-so “look at me, dammit!”:
ray j
i know, i know! it’s like “wtf’ but just let me have this one, lol. although i wouldn’t actually ever go there, cuz… ewww, there’s just something about this boy that’s just so fucking sexy to me. maybe it’s because he walks, talks, and oozes “i’ll fuck the shit out of you!” intellectually, i’m cursing myself out for thinking such things, but every time he starts to lick those lips, pull up his shirt and tries to drop his c-list swagger, my hot pocket and i just salivate with horniness.
the world is still waiting patiently to see what is purpose is, but for now i’m counting my blessings [read: enjoying his nakedness] and taking the time to salute and rise for “brandy’s little brother” with a hearty:
so, all week long i’ve been bouncing around newport beach, ca at a conference for work reveling in the “none of my business”-event that was bey and jay’s recent wedding.
upon returning to my brooklyn, ny apartment (thank god!) and settling into my writing and work for the day, i came upon an article about a familiar couple accompanied by the title:
