Beyonce teams up with the always fresh and exciting Lady Gaga for the remix to her newest single, “Video Phone.” I’m loving the departure from the black and white, and rather subdued nature of the previous video releases for the “I Am” album. She serves up a lot more color, attitude and flare in this one- giving us a bit of old school (”Check Up On It”) Beyonce as well as dishing out something new.
Not sure if Matthew Knowles had anything to do with this, but the “nobody outshines Beyonce” code of conduct memo seems to have been delivered to Gaga as well. In comparison to the artist we see in her videos, and on the red carpet, she was toned down like nobody’s business in this video. [Apparently, Lady Gaga will be doing her own video for "Telephone" so I can't be too mad. KILL IT, GAGA!!] Aside from that (oh, and the almost seizure-inducing flashing), I enjoyed it.
I’m no dancer, but trust… at some point, I will be attempting that roll out of the chair on to the ground move from the dance break. Where’s my wig? Oh, and I LOVED the video heads on the dancers. That was a great touch!
beyonce’s worldwide “I Am…” tour finally arrives to madison square garden in new york tomorrow night and i still don’t have a ticket! i was blessed enough to be able to attend her last tour, “the beyonce experience,” both nights she was in new york- treating a few friends to the concert as well. but now, after losing my job and my financial stability, i’m incredibly saddened that i may not be able to see sasha fierce in all her glory this time around.
i need ur help, people! y’all know i luvs me some beyonce; and i know somebody out there has a (free) extra, hot-seat, ticket and is looking for a concert buddy. help a brotha out, pleeeaaaase!! ask and you shall receive, right? c’mon universe… work your magic! i need to be shakin’ my bootay at that concert… i’d be so forever grateful!
beyonce rocked this stunning blue dress and gold coat ensenble as she arrived at “the david letterman show” earlier today. upon seeing this picture i could have sworn i stopped breathing. all i could think was, “if i was a girl…” work, bey!
tickets for beyonce’s “i am” tour go on sale this monday. while usually ecstatic and jumping off the walls upon hearing such glorious news, this time around i find myself in a bit of a pickle. you see, when i went to see “the beyonce experience” i went both nights it played in madison square garden. i had 7th row seats for the second night and treated my friends to a free show both performances. i lived! i consider myself to be a beyonce “dan.” you know, one of those normal people, who really love beyonce. not crazy or fanatic… just chill.
anyway, last year- actually today last year- i lost my job and am now looking at this news with a bit of doubt in my heart. tickets for the june 21, 2009 show go on sale on monday, and it disturbs saddens me to know that this time around, it’s possible i may not see it. so now, universe, i come to you. there’s no need for me to go all out as i did the last time, but i would thouroughly enjoy 2 tickets for a friend and myself. i would love to be treated to beyonce’s show, but am also willing to work for it.
universe? can i please get 2 great tickets to “i am?” i mean…it’s beyonce!
the success of beyonce’s new song, “single ladies (put a ring on it).”has been tremendous! when i first heard it, i was intrigued, but not impressed. it does kinda sound like “get me bodied”… haven’t we been there already? i guess i was just expecting something different- something just didn’t sit right with me. as a serious beyonce fan, that was hard pill to swallow, and an even harder one to admit to. but ba.by! when i saw that video! i was back to my top stan fan status!
i posted the other day a video of a feverishly gay young man dancing in his bedroom to the track, and despite shaking my head for the following 10 minutes, i gave the dude props… ‘cuz i know i can’t (and won’t publicly) pump to beyonce with such femininity. i just can’t get myself to do it. there was also a tag in the post about the kids [read: young black gay community] working it out for the hood. i actually expected to see that video first. what i didn’t expect to see, however, was the popeyes combo #2 extra crispy that is the following:
*sigh* i’ll say it again… sometimes, i hate being gay.
*sigh* i can’t resist cheesin’ from ear to ear when i see these two together!
i dream of one day reaching their type of baller status and maybe even partying on with them in cannes.
i gotta get to work. there’s a lot of hard and rough work to be done, but it’s role models like these that keep me smilin’ and working my ass off every step of the way.
thanx guys! hope you’re having as much fun as it looks like you’re having, lol.
